Blog #3

At the end of part two of Great Expectations Pip finds out who his benefactor is and it is not Miss Havisham as he had expected it was all those years. It turned out to be the convict he helped a long time ago in his childhood. Upon learning this, Pip realized that he was not set up to marry Estella like he always thought he was. Pip was devastated because the future he had envisioned was no longer possible. Pip feels in his mind that he can no longer pursue Estella and that Estella will probably marry someone else.

  1. I agree with you, Maddie!! In addition, Pip feels played, because Miss Havisham had played him and lead him to believe she was his benefactor, which in a way is more disappointing to Pip than her not being his benefactor.
